Making Democracy Work

Observer Corps

About the LWVOR Observer Corps

The LWVOR Observer Corps are League volunteers who have agreed to serve as observers at the meetings of the major committees and commissions in city and county government.

Decisions of Oak Ridge boards and commissions determine the types and quality of goods and services for schools, housing, environmental initiatives, industrial development, community health, land banks, and other community needs. They also determine tax structures and fees for services.

This public service provides unbiased and non-partisan information to our members and the community and promotes transparency in governmental meetings.
